Junior Blades Ice Skating Club
Junior Blades Ice Skating Club teaches all skaters, the basics of learning to skate correctly by our professional coaches with assistance from Western Province senior skaters.
We all have to start somewhere and the best way to learn to ice skate is by joining a club and enjoying the friendship of group lessons.
We are here to help you have fun, keep fit & healthy, focused and disciplined, and to realise your dreams to become a champion ice skater.
The Junior Blades Ice Skating Club was established in 1975 and is operational throughout the year, only closing for Easter Weekend and December School Holidays.

The JB Skating School is for you (all ages from the age of 3).
The 15 grade levels are the fundamentals of the sport.
Our skating school teaches the basic fundamentals of skating including forward and backward skating, stops, edges, turns, freestyle movements, basic jumps and spins. Awarding skaters grade badges (available for purchase) every step of the way, we set the foundation for future Western Province, National and International skaters in various disciplines: Solo, Pairs, Ice dance, and Synchronized team skating.
Ideally once skaters have a few of the basics covered, they may proceed to having private lessons. These lessons are offered by the Ice Station's resident professional/pro-am coaches. (Coaches). Your professional coach will help you to sign up as a member of the South African Figure Skating Association – WP (SAFSA-WP).
